Plaosan Temple: A magnificent symbol of harmony between Buddhism and Hinduism in Indonesia. Built around the 9th century and traditionally believed to have been dedicated by Hindu King Rakai Pikatan to his Buddhist Queen Pramodawardhani, its architecture seamlessly blends both religious traditions, reflecting a spirit of religious harmony and mutual respect. The complex consists of numerous small shrines, stupas, and Bodhisattva statues, creating a deeply serene atmosphere. Many view Plaosan as a monument of love and unity due to the historical romance between its Hindu king and Buddhist queen.

Noon : Pramoran Temple: The grand Hindu temple complex recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Sewu Temple: The ancient Mahayana Buddhist center of the Mataram Kingdom, representing the Buddhist cosmological universe. The entire complex is laid out in a mandala pattern with a central main shrine surrounded by hundreds of smaller shrines, symbolizing cosmic architecture and the path to enlightenment. Originally named "Manjusrigrha" (meaning "The House of Manjusri"), Sewu is not only a place of worship but also holds profound meanings of wisdom, spiritual awakening, and the divine power of Buddhism during that era.

After lunch, continue visiting Pawon Temple, which serves as a spiritual stepping stone bridging Mendut and Borobodur. The three temples lie on a straight axis, and many scholars believe Pawon was a place for pilgrims to purify their minds and spirits before reaching Borobodur—the ultimate symbol of the spiritual journey toward enlightenment.

In the afternoon, the delegation proceeds to the Borobodur area to participate in the Pradaksina ritual (circumambulation around the stupas)—mindful walking meditation around the sacred stupa in a clockwise direction, symbolizing utmost reverence for the Buddha, purification, deep concentration, and alignment with ultimate awakening. This special circumambulation ritual is exclusively arranged for our delegation under the spiritual guidance of Indonesian Buddhist monastic leaders, Most Venerable CittaGutto and Venerable Guttadhammo.

Following the ritual, the delegation will attend a dana (offering) ceremony dedicated to the Sangha, held inside the ITCC marquee tent. Enjoy dinner and return to the hotel for rest. Overninght in Yogyakarta.

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. The car and tour guide will accompany the delegation to Borobodur to visit the grand architectural masterpiece of the Mahayana Buddhist Mandala—the magnificent stone sanctuary built in the 8th century, exploring the unique representation of the Five Dhyani Buddhas in Vajrayana tradition across its 10 terraces (bhumi).

Attend the grand Sangha food offering ceremony hosted by the Indonesian Theravada Sangha following the Pali Tripitaka chanting session, joined by approximately 70 monastics (Bikkhus), 200 novices (Samaneras), and 100 lay practitioners observing the Eight Precepts (Atthasilani). Lunch will be served at the organization's ITCC marquee tent.

Visit Mendut Temple, a stunning ancient shrine housing a magnificent statue of Maitreya Buddha flanked by two great Bodhisattvas. The delegation will then take part in the Ashalha Puja –International Pali Tripitaka Chanting Procession, commencing from Mendut Temple towards Borobodur, symbolizing the journey along the path of enlightenment. This walking pilgrimage covers approximately 3 km, accompanied by the monastic community and fellow Indonesian Buddhists.

Dinner and return to the hotel for rest. Overninght in Yogyakarta.

Taman Sari Water Castle: A remarkable symbol of the cultural blend of Javanese, Islamic, Hindu, Buddhist, Chinese, and European influences, standing as one of Yogyakarta's most iconic 18th-century architectural landmarks.
Kraton Yogyakarta (Sultan's Palace): The intersection between the physical and spiritual realms. Every gateway, courtyard, garden, color, and architectural layout carries profound symbolic meanings representing moral virtues, devotion, and spiritual connection.

Following lunch, the delegation departs back to Yogyakarta to visit and shop at Malioboro Street—the city's most vibrant street shopping, culinary, and street performance hub. This is where the distinct essence of Javanese life comes alive through batik textiles, handicraft art, traditional horse-drawn carriages (andong), street music, and open-air lesehan dining. Malioboro is not merely a commercial street but a vibrant reflection of Yogyakarta's lifestyle and cultural heritage.

Dinner and overnight in Yogyakarta.

Enjoy an early breakfast. The car transfers the delegation to the airport for the flight back to Jakarta, connecting to the return flight to HCMC.
