On July 23, 2026, numerous book lovers gathered at the headquarters of Giác Ngộ Newspaper (85 Nguyễn Đình Chiểu, Xuân Hòa Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) to attend the interaction and book launch event for “Wandering in the Land of the Buddha” by author Nguyễn Trung Toàn.
Attending the book introduction and exchange event were Most Venerable Thích Giác Toàn, Vice Chairman of the Executive Council, Head of the Vietnam Buddhism Research Institute, and Advisor to Giác Ngộ Newspaper; along with numerous venerable monastics, scholars, intellectuals, journalists, artists, and book lovers.
At the ceremony, Most Venerable Thích Giác Toàn shared his experiences of pilgrimage and devotional worship at the sacred sites of the Buddha in India.
“The work ‘Wandering in the Land of the Buddha’ by author Nguyễn Trung Toàn, featuring engaging content combined with stunning photography by photographer Võ Văn Tường, reflects the author’s deep faith in the Buddha’s teachings through his pilgrimage journeys in the Buddha’s land,” praised the Most Venerable.
During the exchange, author Nguyễn Trung Toàn shared that “pilgrimage” is not merely physical movement across the lands of the Buddha, but a return to the source alongside His teachings, aiming to cultivate spiritual experiences that help individuals transform in the present moment.
Nguyễn Trung Toàn shared that with nearly 30 years of visiting almost all major Buddhist holy sites worldwide, having experienced multiple trips to the Buddha’s land in India and attended various Buddhist events, the work “Wandering in the Land of the Buddha” was born from accumulated emotional experiences and historical notes gathered at sacred sites during months of Buddhist affairs combined with business pilgrimage trips.
“Through this publication, my greatest wish is to help people better understand the Buddha’s land, especially those who have never set foot there,” Mr. Trung Toàn expressed.
On this occasion, author Nguyễn Trung Toàn also spent time signing books for the large number of book lovers attending the event.
It is known that the publication “Wandering in the Land of the Buddha,” published by the Ho Chi Minh City General Publishing House, is Nguyễn Trung Toàn’s second work. Previously, in 2004, he released the book “Khmer Pagodas in Southern Vietnam.”
